At South Woods, we place a premium on serving one another and those in our community. Having servant hearts that find expression in ministering to the needs of others lies at the center of a healthy, tenacious gospel witness. Jesus was sent into the world, not to be served, but to serve. In doing so, His life was not spared. That same sacrificial spirit and energy must mark those who have heard His call, “Follow Me.” We are reminded in Peter’s first epistle, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace…by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 4:10-11) We believe that self-forgetful, joyful, faithful service within and beyond the walls of South Woods glorifies Jesus Christ and adorns His great gospel.
At South Woods we have a host of opportunities for service. Generally the best way to find those opportunities is by contacting one of our deacons. They lead out in Pre-school ministry, Ushering/Security, Benevolence, Finance, and other service opportunities that enable the space God has provided us to be more conducive to worship and discipleship.
