"Disciples" - Paul did not assume, he questioned. Usage of word
2. Level of understanding

Note: Paul was not emphasizing the Holy Spirit but Christ.
III. Response to the Gospel Revelation
1. Baptism
Their baptism under John was insufficient. It was not an issue of mode but purpose. Baptism follows faith.
2. Transition from John's authority (20 years in it) to apostle' laying on hands
3. Indwelling by the Holy Spirit
4. Identification with church and new covenant
Tongues and prophesying; transition point; not normative.
